What is an MX record?
An MX record (MX is short for mail exchanger) identifies which mail server is responsible for handling emails sent to a domain name. It forms part of a domain's DNS (domain name system) which acts as a sort of address book, matching IP addresses to human-readable domain names.
One domain can have multiple mail servers specified in its MX records for load balancing or redundancy.
